Are you a high school senior or junior looking at colleges, or planning to continue your studies at an ELCA - affiliated university, college, or seminary?

Central Lutheran Church, in partnership with Pacific Lutheran University and through generous gifts by Central members, offers several scholarships for those furthering their education at PLU, another ELCA-affiliated college or university, or attending seminary.

ELCA Colleges, Universities & Seminaries Scholarship Program:
A scholarship may be awarded in an amount of $1,000 (per year, up to four years) to any member of Central Lutheran Church who plans to attend an ELCA college or university or an ELCA seminary in the Masters of Divinity (MDiv) program. Friends of Tom and Tyne Haukebo Scholarship to Pacific Lutheran University:
This annual award of up to $6,000 may be awarded a maximum of four years per student, and a portion may be matched by Pacific Lutheran University (PLU). It is available to members of Central who will be attending PLU. There are no GPA, Class Level, Financial Need, or University Major requirements or criteria. Haukebo Leadership Scholarship to Pacific Lutheran University: This one-time $4,000 award is distributed in $1,000 increments over 4 years. The Leadership award is for those who have been active members and leaders within their ELCA church through participation in youth group, camps, worship or other opportunities. High School seniors who are members of an ELCA Alaska Synod Lutheran Church, and who have been accepted to and plan to attend Pacific Lutheran University are eligible. Hazel Anderson Music Scholarship to Pacific Lutheran University:
This renewable award of $500 - $1,500 per year, based on resources & number of applicants, is open to Alaska residents (5+ years), with a demonstrated interest and ability in music, a focus on classical or religious music, good moral character, economically limited, will be or is continuing their education at PLU. Preference is given to applicants with high ability and current involvement in music, future plans that involve music, residents of the Municipality of Anchorage over outlying areas of Alaska, and applicants with financial need (as demonstrated in FAFSA). PLU Matching Scholarships:
PLU may offer matching scholarships to one of the Haukebo programs. The form is available at PLU's website.

PLU Partner Congregation / Confirmation Scholarships:
PLU offers a renewable $1,500 scholarship to those confirmed into member congregations, like Central Lutheran. See more detail at the PLU website.
